Adult Romantasy Titles Coming in the Second-Half of 2025
More titles for your TBR hot off the presses
Hello Readers of the Realm! Hope you have taken some time away from your screens to enjoy the gorgeous summer weather. I adore this time of year in the Midwest—it’s not too not or too cold but just right. Time to read on the beach, under a tree, on the train into the city, and working in the yard. For those of you lucky enough to have a library, go see if they have a summer reading program. Sign up! You can get prizes and accolades for doing something you love all the while showing support for one of the most important intuitions in your community.
And do we have some great titles to look forward to for summer reading and beyond! The only problem is, with all these great new books, will there be time to do any re-reads of old favorites, especially if the book in question is towards the end of a series? I suppose I can listen to those audiobooks on 1.75x speed…
Whether your a Fairy Loot girl or a Kindle Unlimited junkie, get read for all the shadow daddies, vampires, dragons, and our favorite kick-ass FMCs as we head into the second half of the year. As with the prior post from January, I’ve featured my most anticipated titles at the top of the list by pub date. The rest of the batch have been sorted into categories.
Terror at the Gates by Scarlett St. Clair
July 8, 2025
Hades and Persephone fans, Scarlett St. Clair is back with a new series. I am absolutely thrilled she’s retelling the story of Lilith and the Garden of Eden from a feminist point of view. Anyone who dabbles in astrology is likely familiar with some of the archetypes associated with the mathematical point in your birth chart called Black Moon Lilith. For those who may not know, she represents the shadow side of our soul, as well as any repressed desires. To see this archetype on page as a romantasy character? YES PLEASE!
Terror at the Gates is dark, even for St. Clair. Trigger warnings include a storyline that examines childhood trauma and abuse at the hands of church leaders. However, with the promise of a sexy MMC that rules over the red-light district that Lilith eventually flees to, there’s a promise of tender moments amid all that justified feminine rage. If you enjoyed Tamara Jeree’s The Fall that Saved Us, you won’t want to miss this one.
From the publisher:
Estranged from her powerful family, Lilith Leviathan finds refuge in Nineveh, a district in the city of Eden devoted to sin. There, she uses her magic to steal for a living, attracting the attention of the five governing families as well as the church, which expects women to remain pious and silent. When Lilith comes into possession of a beautiful blade, she thinks all her worries are over…until her usual buyer dies while inspecting it.
Frantic, Lilith turns to the only man who can help Zahariev, head of the Zareth family and ruler of Nineveh. His currency is information, and his power is extortion, though he's always had a soft spot for Lilith. But when the dagger appears, he isn't sure he can protect her from what's to come.
Together, they embark on a mission to discover the true power running their world. As their lives intertwine, Lilith realizes Zahariev is more than just a friend, but their devotion to each other is a threat—to the truth, to the church, and to those who want to tear it all down.
The Primal of Blood and Bone by Jennifer L. Armentrout
September 23, 2025
I don’t know how to feel. On the one hand, the story of Poppy and Casteel will be concluded in The Primal of Blood and Bone. Yay!!! I do love a completed series and its new found bingeable status. But also, tears, because it is gut wrenching when a favorite series is over. And honestly, if I did a survey, I’m sure at least half of my readers rank Casteel as a top three book boyfriend. Currently he is at number two in my list, and that’s only because my favorite book boyfriend is the one I wrote. (You gotta read Rowena’s Song to find out who he is).
And I suppose there won’t be as many tears as there could be, as there is a planned book 7 from a different POV that has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for a future reading guide. We may be in a Tower of Dawn/Kingdom of Ash situation that will require a tandem read.
From the Publisher:
In the thrilling penultimate chapter of the viral BLOOD AND ASH series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout, Poppy and Casteel face their most perilous challenges yet as old enemies rise and ancient powers stir from their slumber.
Bound by love but driven by destiny, they must navigate a world on the brink of
devastation—where every choice has deadly consequences. With their bond tested and their future hanging in the balance, the fate of the realm rests on the strength of their hearts and the power of the Deminyen.
Brimstone by Callie Hart
November 18, 2025
Alas. I read Quicksilver so quickly I will need to re-read it before jumping into Brimstone. The cliffhanger ending is a detail I have not forgotten, along with the sexy-as-hell guy they got to narrate Kingfisher’s voice in the audio. But I hate to admit that when reading the publisher’s summary, it took a minute for my brain to recall the entire cast of characters and what their planned next move was.
For those of you not suffering from perimenopause brain fog, you might be able to dive in to the second, final installment of Callie Hart’s fan-favorite romantasy.
On a snarky note (and I try so hard not be mean)…but why this cover?? It doesn’t match the look or vibe of the Quicksilver cover. Not. At. All. I wish publishers thought about this more. I pay a lot of money to have my FairyLoot box dropped off at my front door so I have at least one gorgeous book to add to my shelf every month. I won’t purchase this in hardcover when it comes out if this is what it’s going to look like.
From the publisher:
Duty. Blood. Honour. Power.
Saeris Fane doesn't want power. The very last thing she needs is her name whispered on an entire court's lips, but now that she's been crowned queen of the Blood Court, she's discovering that a queen's life is not her own. A heavy weight rests upon her shoulders.
Her ward - and her brother - need her back in her homeland . . . but the changes that have strengthened Saeris have also made her weak. Born under blazing suns, Saeris will surely die if she makes her way home through the Quicksilver. Which means that, once again, she must send someone else in her stead . . .
'Keep your mouth shut. Stick to the shadows. And for the love of all seven Gods, do NOT crack any jokes.'
Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate has defeated armies and survived all manner of horrors, but traveling back to Zilvaren with Carrion Swift might just be the death of him. The male just will not shut up. Hidden dangers await them down the narrow alleyways of the Silver City. Unfolding secrets pose impossible threats. Fisher must wrangle the smuggler and accomplish his goals quickly if he wants to see his mate again.
A darkness falls across Yvelia. The realm and their friends are in danger. Together, Saeris and Fisher will pass through fire and brimstone to save them.

The Fallen & the Kiss of Dusk by Carissa Broadbent. This may or may not be for you, depending on how much you enjoyed book 3 in the Nyxia series. What Fury Brings by Tricia Levenseller. From the publisher: #1 New York Times-bestselling author Tricia Levenseller makes her adult debut in What Fury Brings, a sexy, empowering romantasy featuring a warrior general who must kidnap and train a husband in order to take her rightful place as queen. From Ivy: A book about training your husband? HELL YEA 😂 September 23, 2025
Silly Laughs and Cozy Vibes:

Accomplice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer. The grumpy/sunshine dynamic continues, and I can’t wait to find out what Evie and the Villain are up to in the third installment of this laugh-out-loud funny series. However, inquiring minds want to know how much longer can this slow ember burn??? Gods I’m ready for it to ignite. August 7, 2025
A Match Made in Hell by Charlotte Ingham. When Willow accidently dies and finds herself a realm that very well could be hell, she makes a deal with the very handsome King of Asphodel in an attempt to win back her human life. But resisting the seven sins might be more difficult than she has anticipated. (Agreed. Just look at the pic of Sath on the cover.) Release date: Sep 30, 2025
Final Thoughts:
So excited to get ahold of these titles! There are some really solid authors represented here with a variety of books to appeal to all the subgenres in romantasy. My only disappointment is that I wasn’t able to find a bunch of witchy books. Usually September and October provide a ton of new titles in that specific subgenre, but I wasn’t able to find any. If and when I learn more, check back here for a spooky season themed preview.
Eagle-eyed readers may also have noted a big omission from this list. The second half of When the Moon Hatched, titled The Ballad of Falling Dragons by Sarah A. Parker, has been pushed back to February 2026. So again, great if you need time for a re-read, but also, #sad.

Some good ones on this list! Soon it shall be time to shuffle the TBR tower.
